Using Facebook Pages to Promote Your Home Based Business Ideas

If you are using free advertising to promote your business and get your products and services in front of as many people as possible, there are several options, but I want to share with you which ones I think are the best. I went through my Google Analytics report this morning so I could see where I was with my site visits, review key metrics like bounce rates, time spent on my site, and for today’s discussion, where my traffic was coming from. To my surprise, I saw that the vast majority of my traffic was coming directly from Facebook. The reason for this goes back to one thing. Not only did most of my “free” traffic come from Facebook, but there were other things about my metrics that led me to believe that Facebook is one of my most valuable channels for advertising.

48% of my website traffic came from Facebook:

Creating a Facebook fan page is not only free, but also attractive and the easiest way to spread your content on the web. I created a page for one of my businesses, invited my friends to like it, and in two days ten people liked my page. I did some old fashioned measurements with the calculator and the net result of just ten people liking my page was that over 3000 people had access to view my page. In other words, I got three thousand impressions for the page. Pages get you more impressions, more traffic, and ultimately help you establish a brand.

My Facebook page traffic was higher quality traffic than other sources:

This factor is why I imagine big brands like TGIFridays, Adidas, Carl’s Jr, and Butterfinger engage their customers through social media. They tend to drive traffic and make more sales from this traffic because a sense of community and loyalty drives them to do so. In my analytics report, I saw that FB not only generated more traffic, but fewer people left my site without viewing at least one page (bounce rate) and the amount of time people spent on my site was at least triple. than it was from other source traffic. Traffic is only useful if those visitors are engaged and ready to buy.

Regardless of your advertising budget or company size, using Facebook Fan Pages to engage your customers, build loyalty, brand awareness, and ultimately increase sales are valuable reasons to use this medium for advertising. .
