First of all, we must understand that there is only one body.
I, then, a prisoner of the Lord, beg you to walk as is worthy of the vocation with which you are called, with all humility and meekness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love; Solicitous to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. there is only one body and one Spirit, as you are also called in the same hope of your vocation; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in all. Ephesians 4:1-6
To really understand the activity of the body of Christ, we need to know what Christ did when he walked the earth, and what he said about what he was doing, and what he said the church would be doing or should be doing. Wherever he went he did well. He said that he will build his church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18. The church is still being built, by whom? Christ with his body, the church.
People marvel at what Christ did when he was here in person, but the work goes on; but through the church, his body. So whatever you’ve heard him do in times past, that’s what the church should see today. Jesus said, “it’s finished!” it was not what he did then that ended, but the price he paid for us to be qualified to do what he did.
Too many assemblies follow the spirit of the crowd, and not that of Christ. If we are to operate like him, then we are the ones the crowd must turn to, we are the ones who heal the sick, raise the dead, care for the poor, make the lame walk, the blind to see, the deaf to see. to hear, the mute to speak, etc.
We are the ones who feed the crowd and do whatever is good to touch the lives of many.
Help is needed everywhere. if our eye is good, our whole body will be full of light. We are not called to be hypocrites. We are bearers of the truth. We have the life of Christ and the mind of Christ, and we are members of the body of Christ. Christ is our example; he said, “his sheep know his voice and follow him,” who are we really following when we are working to become rich, and for some, working to become richer in material things. It is written that a man’s life does not consist of the abundance of the things he possesses, so having all these things and not complying with the demands and commandments of Christ is not wisdom. What good is it to a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?
The harvest is still ripe, but the workers are few. Will you join the end-time harvest of winning souls for the kingdom and equipping them to do the work of the ministry? This it is. The reason for being of the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, is to perfect the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edification of the body… Eph 4:7-16.
My prayer is that people will return to the purpose for which they have been saved, and from now on, go all over the world, preaching the gospel to every creature… Starting in our own communities, demonstrating the love of Christ to all. people, drawing them to Christ by the power that he put in us by his Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that he has taught us.
Jesus loves us all, let’s not lose faith.
